Burning An Image Into Yudu Emulsion

Burning An Image Into Yudu Emulsion Video Clips. Duration : 2.33 Mins.

www.expressionsink.com Once the yudu screen is prepared with emulsion we will use the light box feature of the yudu machine to burn an image into our screen. In the state that the emulsion sheet is in right now it is water soluble. When the emulsion is exposed to light it becomes hard and insoluble. What we are trying to accomplish here is to expose most of the emulsion to light to convert it while blocking out the light in other areas so that we can then remove the emulsion there to create an area where the ink can flow through and reproduce the image for us. So to do this we will use a printable transparency and an inkjet printer to print a black design on to the transparency. This will then be placed on the light box in relation to where we want it to block the light from our screen. Then the prepared screen is placed on the transparency on the light box. The yudu adult platen is then placed over the top of these and the lid is closed. It is a good idea to place something that weighs a few pounds on top to make sure there is a nice tight fit between the screen and the image. Then we will set the light exposure time on our machine to 8 minutes. This is generally a good exposure. It depends on what you are after. Hit the timed light button and you are now burning you yudu screen.
